About this deal

Osprey Farpoint Trek FAQs Osprey Farpoint VS Osprey Farpoint Trek – Which Should I Choose? The Farpoint and the Farpoint Trek, which one is for you? The Farpoint series is technically unisex, but there is now also the Osprey Fairview 40. This is a women’s specific edition with some tweaks for extra comfort.

On the plus side, though, the lifetime warranty means I can get it patched for free. The only reason I haven’t is that the material is so high-quality the hole hasn’t grown at all in two years and I forget it’s there! There are also 70-liter versions, though I personally consider these too large for general travel purposes. Features of the Farpoint Trek 55 Ok, how perfect is the product placement in this pic in Cappadocia? It totally wasn’t sponsored by Osprey (But I’m totally open to the opportunity…) When reviewing the Farpoint Trek 55, it occurred to me that it could be part of a very cool set-up for long-term travel. But if you are going on a longer and more adventurous trip, I think the Farpoint Trek 55 will work really well.

Osprey Farpoint 55 Review: What I Love

The frame in the Trek 75 is much like that of the original Farpoint. It is very unobtrusive yet still works incredibly well and makes carrying heavy loads a doddle. The Trek opens from the side, like a suitcase. The items in the center are held together by compression straps, keeping everything else in place too.

Integrated compression system. While the regular Farpoint which has no internal organization features, the Trek does have several. As a flight cover, the AirCover feels a little baggy. Unless your bag is crammed to capacity, the AirCover will sag and not look great but the protection it offers is certainly worth the downgrade in appearance. As a rain shield, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it fit. The other common question I get is if the 40L carry-on size is big enough for certain trips. I think traveling minimally is great, but there are some trips where you might need a bit of extra space. If you are on the fence about how much space you need, then the Farpoint Trek 55 is a really nice step up from carry-on.Osprey bags have officially been puppy approved by this lil’ guy in Bulgaria – how many of their competitors can say that? The Farpoint 55 Trek is ideal if you’re looking for a bag that you can use for travel and potentially for trekking as well. It is available in just two sizes, both of which are too big to be considered a carry-on. And that is one reason why I’m not so impressed with the travel aspect of this bag. No. The Farpoint Trek is too big to take on as hand luggage. You may be able to sneak the smaller 55-litre version on as hand luggage but officially, it’s too large.

Whether to buy the Farpoint or Fairview 55 or another version depends on your space requirements and whether you’re into the 2-in-1 system. You can consider several configurations based on your needs:Plus, the extra clips on the front and bottom meant I could strap a sleeping bag and a tent to the outside which was great when my bag was full. What are the differences? Well, the Fairview 40 has slightly smaller dimensions, but has been made more comfortable as it is designed for the female body. Also, the shoulder straps curve along the body, creating a better fit-for-women design. So, I literally live out of this bag and have for three years of full-time travel through more than 20 countries. Support for a water bladder. A water system for trekking is not included, but you can easily add one if you want.
