About this deal

SupportAssist, previously called My Dell, provides system updates, detects issues and sends you alerts based on your device, which makes solving and preventing problems easier than ever. This application gives you access to everything you need to take the guesswork out of maintaining PCs and tablets. For more information and installation instructions see the following link: The Latitude’s claim to hardware fame is its 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, which helped it achieve excellent scores in our benchmark tests as you’ll see shortly. Less exciting is its 8GB of DDR3 memory – that’s only just enough RAM to keep the Latitude from hiccupping during heavy, multi-tab, multi-program usage. The section below provides links to articles that contain information about the different hardware on your system. They can help you to troubleshoot any problems that might be identified by the above diagnostics. There are also general "How to" articles that can help with tasks, for example like updating the BIOS or upgrading a hard drive. AC Adapter and Battery It took the Latitude 13 seconds to transfer 4.97GB of files, or 391.5 MBps. Only the ThinkPad X1 Yoga was faster (508.9 MBps), while the Surface Pro (339 MBps) and the average (283.2 MBps) were slower. Estimated delivery times are provided to us by the respective delivery companies. We pass this information onto you, the customer.

The Latitude also has better connectivity, with two USB-C ports -- either of which can be used to charge the device -- along with a standard USB 3.1 port. The USB-C ports also double up as DisplayPort connectors for using an external monitor, although you'll need to supply a suitable DisplayPort adaptor of your own. You can optionally upgrade these to Thunderbolt 3 ports if you want faster data transfer speeds. To preserve battery life, ensure that the tip is not pressed when the pen is not in use. For example: When storing the pen, make sure the pen is secure so that the tip is not accidentally pressed. Pressing the tip is equivalent to writing and this drains the battery. The two quad-cores also finished in a dead heat in our Cinebench CPU measurement and Handbrake video-editing exercise, comfortably ahead of the dual-core Surface Pro and HP Spectre x2. The Dell and Surface Pro tied for honors in our Adobe Photoshop image-editing workload.Inspiron 3668, Latitude 5290 2-in-1, Latitude 5290, Latitude 7290, Latitude 3390 2-in-1, Latitude 7390 2-in-1, Latitude 7390, Latitude 3490, Latitude 5490, Latitude 5491, Latitude 7490, Latitude 3590, Latitude 5590, Latitude 5591, OptiPlex 3050 All-In-One, OptiPlex 3050 Tower, OptiPlex 3050 Micro, OptiPlex 3050 Small Form Factor, OptiPlex 3060 Tower, OptiPlex 3060 Micro, OptiPlex 3060 Small Form Factor, OptiPlex 5050 Tower, OptiPlex 5050 Micro, OptiPlex 5050 Small Form Factor, OptiPlex 5060 Tower, OptiPlex 5060 Micro, OptiPlex 5060 Small Form Factor, OptiPlex 5250 All-In-One, OptiPlex 7050 Tower, OptiPlex 7050 Micro, OptiPlex 7050 Small Form Factor, OptiPlex 7060 Tower, OptiPlex 7060 Micro, OptiPlex 7060 Small Form Factor, OptiPlex 7450 All-In-One, OptiPlex 7460 All-In-One, OptiPlex 7760 All-In-One, Vostro 5370, Vostro 14 3468, Vostro 5471, Vostro 3578, Vostro 15 5568, Vostro 3470, Vostro 3670, XPS 27 7760, XPS 8920 The 2560 x 1440p webcam on the Latitude 5290 is excellent for a laptop, and I wouldn't be embarrassed to jump on an important conference call with it. It's sharp, and it caught every hair on my head and in my beard, as well as my dimple, and the red of my shirt was accurate. The light behind me wasn't blown out as badly as it was on some other webcams. Dell sells the Latitude 5290 2-in-1 with a one-year warranty. See how the company performed on our Tech Support Showdown and Best and Worst Brands ranking. Installing the batteries and reassembling the Active Pen is difficult, but rewards you with 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity—half as many as the Surface Pen, but still plenty for artists and designers—and swift, responsive writing and drawing as well as excellent palm rejection. The pen clings magnetically to the side of the tablet when not in use. Het systeem wordt automatisch opnieuw opgestart en werkt het BIOS bij in het beginscherm van het systeem. Nadat de BIOS-update voltooid is, wordt het systeem nog een keer opnieuw opgestart.

The advantages include for example, the good keyboard and the robust case. The Latitude also has VGA, a connection that is probably still appreciated by some users in the business sector, since there are probably still many VGA projectors around. Furthermore, the Latitude always runs very quietly during idle, while still offering an above-average CPU performance. The battery life is good, and the speakers are also not bad for a small business device. With two RAM slots and up to 32 GB of working memory, the Latitude is also expandable. Use the CD command to navigate through the folders to the *.inf driver location. Use dir as necessary to see the contents of each folder. See ( Figure 6 [English Only]). Unfortunately the Latitude also suffers from some of the same flaws inherent to all detachable devices.

Make sure you buy the keyboard at the same time as the tablet itself, however, as you may end up getting stung for more than you expected. When bought alongside the Latitude, the travel keyboard cost 96 (reduced from 147, we might add) but when bought separately it has a whopping list price of 193 - almost double the price of Microsoft's TypeCover keyboard. Dell Latitude 5290 review: Display The Latitude 5290 is a compact laptop that Dell has optimized through and through for use in business - with all the advantages and disadvantages that are accompanying such an orientation towards specific target groups. Use the following command to load the appropriate driver to the computer and press Enter. (See Figure 8 [English Only] for an example.)

Aside from its processor, the Latitude’s other hardware highlight is 256GB of PCIe NVMe storage. That’s a solid amount of capacity and it’s a quiet and fast drive. In general, compact 12-inch notebooks are not entrenched in the lower ranges of the market in the business segment. An exception is the Latitude-5000 series from Dell, since Dell also offers the more affordable Latitudes in the smaller form factor. Our current test unit, the Dell Latitude 5290, is the latest sprout of these mid-range Latitudes. We are particularly interested in the question of what comprises the manufacturer had to make compared to the more expensive subnotebooks. We therefore compare the Latitude with the Lenovo ThinkPad X280, the HP EliteBook 830 G5, and the Dell Latitude 7280. Of course the Latitude 5280predecessor is also included in our comparison. Users can log in with either the rear-mounted fingerprint reader or facial recognition using Windows Hello. There's also an optional smart card reader for token-based logins. Our review unit included vPro for remote management, though that's not the case with all configurations. Both the 5-megapixel front-facing (for selfies and video chats) and 8-megapixel rear-facing (for snapshots) cameras capture above-averagely bright and detailed images, in addition to the former's face recognition with Windows Hello. Side-facing speakers pump out reasonably loud and clear audio, predictably free of deep bass but accurate and pleasant for streaming entertainment.Boot to the respective Dell Windows11 or Windows10 media and select your computer and keyboard languages to get to the Home screen. I installed the Active Control Panel but got an error message: "A supported tablet was not found." What is the issue? Even with the cool stand, though, it's not as artfully designed as the Microsoft Surface Pro. And if you want the latest processor, you'll need to wait for that one to be refreshed. If you prefer a convertible 2-in-1 to a detachable, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga is the way to go. Its battery life is the same, and while its screen isn't as bright, it shows off more color.
