I knew the kids would like Almond Slice, given their love for Mr Kipling Bakewell Slices but I hadn’t anticipated making two batches within a few days. Gradually add the cold water a spoonful at a time, continuing to mix with your hands, bringing together to form a dough. Some believe butter gives a better flavour to a cake, but margarine does make a better textured and more predictable sponge. And if you want to slice almonds at home, blanch the almonds in boiling water for a minute, then rinse under cold water. With a rich, crunchy taste and delicate flavor, our natural, thinly sliced almond nuts are perfect in both savory and sweet creations.
