About this deal

The finale to this one seemed a bit rushed and weak, certainly not overwhelmingly satisfying or exciting as some crime thrillers are.

There are several digressions into the culture of the Indigenous peoples of the continent as well as a bit of a history lesson thrown in, too. Seed packets are made from recycled manilla paper and the seeds inside are British-grown British wildflower seeds that are great for attracting the insects that bats feed on – Red Campion and Ox-eye Daisy. It’s colourful and attractive, with a clear, simple font and an enthusiastic yet factual tone meaning that information can easily be accessed. The bird in this book has a big secret to tell - they are in fact not a bird at all, rather a dodo in disguise!

Follow this brave little bat in his woolly red hat on his flight through the night, and encounter some very hungry and sneaky animals on his journey. In Bat Tessa Laird challenges preconceptions about these amazing animals, combining fascinating facts of bat biology with engaging portrayals of bats in mythology, literature, film, popular culture, poetry and contemporary art. Neil has had a strong interest in the natural world since childhood, particularly in relation to birds and mammals. Her writing – its understandings, insights, and questions – reveal a transdisciplinary dexterity and a theoretical sophistication .Illustrated with incredible photographs and artistic representations of bats from many different cultures and eras, this celebration of bats contains much to enthral converts and sceptics alike. This is one of an excellent series designed to help people unfamiliar with a group to learn its key features painlessly. A young Norwegian girl taking a gap year in Sydney has been murdered, and Harry has been sent to Australia to assist in any way he can. Join Billy, a young pipistrelle bat, as he is getting ready to fly from his roost for the very first time.

Find out more about natures secret friends, like:- Where bats live- What bats look like- Why bats are important- Growing a bat-friendly garden- Myths about bats and much, much more! When the two find themselves drawn to each other, remarkable things begin to happen, and Terence discovers that there is much more to being a real friend than larking about. Kirkus Reviews states that "It’s an unusual debut since the very first page finds Harry clearing passport control in Sydney, half a world away from his native Oslo. His books The Leopard, Phantom, Police, The Son, The Thirst, Macbeth and Knife have all since topped the Sunday Times charts. This is the first of the Harry Hole novels, introducing the character, but it was very late in being translated to English. A wonderfully written and very informative children's book, created by David and Tamsin Lee of Great Oak Farm.
